There's a term used among Russian speakers to describe films primarily made by foreign companies portraying about USSR/ex-USSR in over-the-top stereotypical fashion, the term being "cranberry movie" («клюква»).

It's a stereotypical East Slavic thing that's quite popular especially cranberry juice and sugar-coated cranberries (not so much cranberries as a sauce, that would be a fennoscandic thing).
