This seems like a HIPAA violation. Even as employer-sponsored healthcare, the government does not have the right to know those levels of details.

No employer should and yet.

We need to get employers out of our healthcare.

Russell Vought was Heinrich Himmler in previous life:

In January 1927, Himmler was appointed deputy propaganda chief.

In December 2020, knowing Trump lost, Vought became chief architect of Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation's concocted design for fascism in the United States.

ultimately this data will be passed to ICE looking for illegals getting medicare (which don't exist) and to compare to state voting records if/when they extort them.

I was thinking that I was glad to be retired now … until I read the bottom part that mentioned “Federal employees and retirees…” 🤬

1 thing that’s scary about this is it seems like it would take longer and more trouble for them to build this kind of a database for how long they have left to be in office. I know governments take on these kinds of projects all the time but I get the sense these guys aren’t planning on leaving

Wait, what possible reason would they have for this information?

Is this yet another Russ Vought initiative ? He worked with DOGE to sell off our data and now is moving to disenfranchise federal employee’s healthcare. Probably somewhere in is disgustingly Project 2025 small print.

There’s literally nothing these people won’t go after.
No power they won’t abuse.
No norm that they won’t destroy.
No line they won’t cross.

There needs to be massive accountability once Dems take over…if they can ever wrest control back.

This will include retirees as well, we are covered under the same umbrella. Many retirees are low income and qualify for support.

It IS illegal. This administration doesn't care because it will be the insurers who are technically violating the law.

The fact that it's illegal?
Nah.
I guess HIPAA is only a suggestion with this fkn admin.
I can't...

Like any authoritarian, the Reps do not believe that laws are real. They believe that laws are weapons used to persecute your enemies, and think that their enemies' reluctance to return the favour is a sign of weakness.

I stopped going to the VA for exactly this reason. Every time I go in they ask the old “how may pregnancies and how may live births”. Women’s health appointments can easily gauge if I’m fertile or not. And DOGE got access to most of the systems. It’s crazy how little I trust them now.

Roe v Wade wasn’t really about abortion. It was about privacy. That got overturned so now they’re “freely” going after what used to be private.

Little known fact: under HIPAA, patients have the right to request restrictions on the disclosure of their PHI if they pay for services entirely out of pocket. This means their provider must honor their request not to bill their insurance and keep their information private from health plans.
