Earlier today, a MAGA “lawyer” refused to acknowledge Native Americans are birthright citizens during oral arguments at the Supreme Court for the birthright citizenship case.

Native Americans are the true original Americans and MAGA are white supremacists, it’s that simple.

You see what DJT is doing for the resources in Iran, Venezuela, Somalia and Nigeria - they have already identified natural resources on Indian reservations. DJT wants them. He believes he can treat the world’s resources like he treats 9 year old girls. #SquabbleUp

They are all really stupid. Even the lawyer. Native Americans are indigenous to this country. They were here first.

I wonder what they called this country, but I'm sure it was not America. This is their lands; has been for over 20,000 years, along with Mexicans/tribes, until we Europeans invaded it. Puerto Ricans were always here as well (Tainos tribe) off the Florida coast. ...1

Listenng to the MAGA lawyer, Sauer, is like listening to nails on a chalk board -- it's as if RFK's horrible voice took over Sauer's body.

The issue with Native persons is tricky. US govt recognizes many Indian tribes as nations unto themselves. So they were viewed as citizens of their tribe / nation, not the US. But this raised so many complications Congress passed a law in 1924 recognizing members of Indian nations as citizens.

They are a Sovereign Nation, but on lands the federal govt gave them? All of America is their land. We, Europeans, are the invaders to their land. Birthright citizenship is in the word itself. Born here, citizen. This about racism. Trump is trying to eliminate as many brown and black skinned ...1

We don't have constitutional birthright citizenship. We have statutory birthright citizens and only for the last 100 years. SCOTUS had a whole case.

The reason why he is tripped up is because if he says our living there makes us constitutional birthright citizens, he cannot finish the genocide

saying we are not citizens later.

This whole thing is so scary. We are one executive order from being in camps too.

This is some twisted legal logic. Quite indefensible, if true.

He didn't refuse. He didn't even know.

Which the correct answer is no, not at first, of course, because that would undermine Native sovereignty rights.

Never mind that we made Natives citizens in 1924 or anything like that.

They are citizens but in a different way. Native Americans weren’t originally birthright citizens because they were not under US jurisdiction. They are under First Nation jurisdiction. But they were given citizenship under the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Citizenship_Act
