The issue with Native persons is tricky. US govt recognizes many Indian tribes as nations unto themselves. So they were viewed as citizens of their tribe / nation, not the US. But this raised so many complications Congress passed a law in 1924 recognizing members of Indian nations as citizens.

I am simply stating facts. Yes, Europeans stole the entire North American continent from peoples who had been living here for tens of thousands of years if not longer. We shoved them onto lands no one else wanted based on “mutual treaties”. The whole thing is one of the worst genocides in history.
