It’s really frustrating to watch media who don’t usually cover the game show up to the big games & ask questions that don’t address the hockey & just push a particular narrative that centers being a role model over being a pro athlete.

I’ve photographed women’s sports over a decade and often hear these question as opposed to the actual tactics of the game.

I get the “why,” but it’s shallow reporting to me. Athletes are geniuses at their craft. Asking about the craft inherently highlights part of what make them “role models”!
