I was commenting on why the discourse is what it is.

But it's so bad now that it's not worth keeping those posts up.

The discourse today is just being contrarian for clicks. It sucks.

Appreciate the honesty you bring.

I've found bsky gets alot better for me if I just start muting accounts that spend more time generating negative posts than positive ones, even if I agree with them.

If they're muted, and people quote them pr reply to them, I get the option to see them, but they don't show in feeds.

I saw your previous posts and can say I gleefully have no idea what the discourse is you were referring to. *returning to watching live Artemis II stream*

People blaming AI for network outages impacting a diverse set of otherwise reliable services (and bsky, which has never been reliable).

Aw man I missed the Alec Techconnectify discourse.

Yours is always my favorite because you always mean exactly what you say and no more, but the dissenters seems to be disagreeing with a subtly but importantly different argument than the one you're making.

And that difference is interesting to see

let's face it, the last year and a bit f*cked us all over.
The world we remember might not come back to us.

Love ya Alec!

I have never seen you post anything in bad faith. Unfortunately that is somewhat rare these days. People have trained themselves to be hyper-vigilant and hyper-paranoid about social media posts. That widespread social media adaptation is understandable, but also very chilling.

Really appreciate you saying that.

The trick, i've found, is to be a nobody on the internet. Then you can get away with saying anything and you'll be ignored.

I’ve seen you talk about removing or needing to clarify posts before. I’ve yet to see a post of yours that even comes close to offensive or intentionally provocative. Just the perspective of a middle-age Midwestern guy.

Keep it up please @techconnectify.bsky.social - we need more voices like yours, with the vocabulary and presentational skills to speak sense. ❤️

The discourse will continue until literacy improves.

There's definitely been some kind of shift lately and so many threads turn into a complete bummer because of people being weird and aggressive about their own inferences.

What even is that?

Bet ya that not everyone knows about their existence

It can be almost impossible to reason with the unreasonable... if they just dont know any better, that is one thing, but when they are stubborn for the sake of self gratification, its just a waste of time and energy.

I suppose it is about reading the situation, and knowing when to abandon it.

I do fear taught behaviors through the algorithm combined with us all having more podcasts than conversations or jobs is sort of destroying our ability to think… adding AI on top of it and some folks just refusing to think for themselves at all now isn’t helping.
