the thing that kills me is the idea that we all have to be in it for the remaindered trash scraps of a megacorp's pet brand like a bunch of hyenas and not that we should just fuck off somewhere else entirely and do it for ourselves first and foremost.

the vast majority of people doing the best tabletop design work are either gleefully and unapologetically unmarketable/unprofitable or starting from a position of "well me and my friends did some shit together" and have started to sell it, and god bless both parties, but SEO doesn't care about them.
