😔 My daughter is a teacher, now doing her first full time credentialed gig in a city in N. California. But she subbed for a couple years before getting her credential, including in the high school she attended here in Southern California. So she called one day to tell me the school was locked down.

Ended up in the street outside the school with hundreds of terrified parents while the cops swept the school looking for the kid with the gun. (He'd brandished it, threatened someone during lunch.) Nice quiet suburb, BTW. It turned out ok but I am still sick thinking about it and worrying about her.
