After another reboot it randomly decided to work again.

Time to move all this crap to FreeBSD, fighting weird Linux bugs is such a waste of my energy sometimes.

Not working, damn you piece of shit!

Guess a Raspberry PI is an obscure platform for Home Assistant these days.

What f*cking idiot decided that SSH should start with the broken interface so you can't repair it remotely?

Great, another Home Assistant update.

Get to practice my blind typing of 'supervisor repair' again on my wireless keyboard...

GOG version.
Use Ubuntu 22 files in a chroot.
Install via sh setup_projectzomboid.sh

In game/projectzomboid/ProjectZomboid64.json change "-XX:+UseZGC", to "-XX:+UseG1GC",

Run the game in a Linux chroot. (su -m ; chroot {linux} ; su -m {your user}; start the game via `sh start.sh`)

Enjoy!

The one I tested before was 41.x Linux (forgot to update it) for version 42.x I implemented 2 syscalls in Linuxulator but in the end it was just a small change in a json file. 🤣

But it made the Linuxulator shut up in the logs a bit so it's still a win.

Project Zomboid 42.x Linux version on FreeBSD. Wine version already worked out of the box but this one needs a little love to get running. 👍

This also works again now. (just noticed I need to fetch the p5 stuff again for the kernel. #whoops)

Making just one GPU work a little and look at the temperature difference between my computerroom and the rest of the house. 🤣

By the way; to play X4 on FreeBSD you still need a patched sdl2 library that doesn't have udev enabled.

./configure --disable-libudev --enable-joystick --enable-dbus

* Starts X4 from Linuxland *hangs until I kill it* spends an hour or two trying to troubleshoot.

* Starts the same binary from FreeBSD (without the linux chroot) works perfectly fine. 🤣

Oh well...

Basically this and the uvm shim and it works on driver version 570 like it worked on 535!

I'll make a how-to but it really only wanted `/proc/self/task/comm` now and it has to think it can change it basically.

I happened to make the Linuxulator on the RiscV do that so I just needed to compile those files here on my Xeon. 👍

That was too damn easy for a Saturday night. Now I need to find a real challenge.

Going to take a while, forgot -j44 so it started compiling on a single core and instead of stopping it and restart it with more cores I choose to wait and play RimWorld until it's done. 🤣

I'm going to apply the patches to this machine and we'll find out it it's that easy pretty quickly.

Only do need to patch pseudofs so I guess I'll be running a custom kernel then.

"CUDA error 304 at ggml-cuda.cu:2106: OS call failed or operation not supported on this OS"

I have a feeling that some of my RiscV procfs patches may fix CUDA on FreeBSD. 🤔

At least I got it stable now by backporting Nvidia drivers 570;

Still slowly looking for the next replacement card that is not going to be Nvidia.

Didn't mention KSP because that works even on a damn toaster. 🤣

But it seems that almost every game I own on GOG works now without even spinning up Bhyve once.

Didn't even try starting Bhyve yet so don't know if the Radeon GPU passtrough works now without any patches. 🤐

Other stuff that already worked fine (if you fix your GPU drivers on i386/Linux);

X3, X4, Hitman series, Farming Simulator 2022, Farmers Dynasty, Medieval Dynasty, No Man's Sky, Foundation, Timberborn, The Escapist, RimWorld, Savage Planet, Surviving Mars, Planet Crafter, Terra Invicta, etc.

A lot more stuff runs 'out of the box' on FreeBSD now, didn't need to patch FreeBSD 15 for;

Project Zomboid 42.x Linux or Wine versions both run now.
Skyrim (W) does need some winetweaks but works now
Cyberpunk 2077 almost wants to run now, didn't try for real. (was from NTFS disk)

And more.

So many bots talking about some LLM making a POC for a bug in FreeBSD that requires you to setup a specific config to be even able to trigger it.

Chill out already. Jeez.

Come with one that doesn't require you to setup a bunch of stuff like NFS first. 👍

Nvidia bullshit aside, I do like KDE6.

Good job on that! 👍

F*ck Nvidia!

Buying a new card, don't care but not going to be Nvidia!
Nvidia is no longer allowed in my house.
