Hello new followers!

Where did you follow me from? A starter pack?

Please tell me, I find this constant trickle of new followers somewhat unsettling 😅

Sometimes a little bit of improved accessibility finds its way into mainstream life. Good stuff.

Also this guy looks about 14. I'm sure he's very clever.

There's so much of this stuff feeding off my fellow hopescrollers now.

Like this shit - I'm like ooh, is there something new? Can I go to bed knowing someone is finally getting him out, or he's leaving?

No, this dude is just reading and reacting to posts on X reacting to Trump's latest threat posted on his Truth Social platform.

While I doomscroll, I think what I'm really doing is hopescrolling.

Looking for a glimmer of hope. For something that looks like the beginning of the turning of the tide.

There are lots of videos on YouTube with very tempting titles, but are just MeidasTouch again rambling for yet another 20 mins.

(Yes some people are using hardware that can't update its browsers, and various other issues.)

ANYWAY!

Here comes a list of 'widely available' features that have matured for 30+ months, since the beginning of 2025, a.k.a. the

"Newly Widely Available":

(dates indicate when the 30 months ended)

While it's great seeing what's coming, and what's new, in reality lots of developers can't begin to put them into production yet, as things will break for their users.

I don't know where the 30 months comes from, but I guess that might be long enough for most people to have updated their browsers.

The Web Platform Baseline (web.dev/baseline) gives a rough indicator on how long web platform features have been available across the "main" browsers.

"Newly available" means that the latest versions of these browsers now support a given feature.

"Widely available" means the above plus 30 months.

This was excellent!

Honestly a lot of us in the audience were quite jealous, and would love the challenge of a project with constraints such as these:

I love this roundup, but the problem remains that these are not all yet available across the board, or cover enough old versions to be "safe" to use in prod.

It's coming though... given a little time.

We need a roundup of all the things that are now newly "widely available" :)
