There is just something about drawing backgrounds for my comic that is so relaxing, and seeing the improvement from the first time I drew these pages to now makes me so excited too

Also another note, the opening scene used to be only 7 or something pages long, with really rushed pacing, I feel like my new pages will fix that cause I am really excited about them giving proper pacing to my story

A bit actually and I am honestly grateful for it. @hir0draws.bsky.social helped me to shape the characters and world of the comic a bit to fit the darker elements my characters will go through later on. Maria was only seen as a 'closed off girl' but matured more as I wrote her with Hiro's help.

Honestly when planning out layouts I try to think about the interior of the room and space I have to fit characters. Hence why drawing the space from above helps so I can figure out where everything goes inside and how it will affect outside / look outside

I'm used to drawing Nature / Fantasy scenes so my comic being in a CITY of all places is a challenge for me, I got to think of all the architecture, the fashion within the city, the vibe, and so much more.

Challenging but also fun

One of the things I've learned from comics is get used to drawing things you aren't good at or normally draw.

Need to draw a city scape? You're gonna draw it

Clothing, Poses, Scenes, Composition, Color, Tones, Text, Effects, Expressions and more

But dang you will be so proud after all of it.
