And, back in the before times when I didn't work for the team, I also wrote this feature about Hayman's surprise win. One of my favourite pieces to write that partially involved just sitting down and watching the whole 2016 edition on YouTube.
It's like the travel overloards decided I should have a year's worth of travel stress in one morning today, but at least I didn't have to wait in the "all other passports" queue at Brussels airport. That shit was long.
Finally in Belgium for the last leg of my around Europe trip.
Running and sightseeing around Barcelona, post Catalunya. Really wasn't feeling it this morning but felt good by the end of it so really happy that I pushed myself to do it.
On a very different note, today my watch decided to prank me by going forward an hour a week early. I use my watch as my alarm (because it's silent and vibrates to wake me - much more pleasant than a sound) and it woke me at 5:30 😠thankfully I have a bedside clock that stopped me from getting up.
Glad to hear that Debora Silvestri is doing comparatively ok after that horrible crash yesterday. Five broken ribs is no joke, but it feels like it could easily have been worse.
When I first started running, I stuggled to do more than a minute without stopping. I still find it mind boggling that I can run 10k, let alone this. Fun fact, my average pace today is faster than my average pace for my first fully run 5k and I did almost 400m of climbing today. Madness.
Hit a massive milestone in my running today. Can't believe I have got here after previously thinking I would never be able to run. Legs are a little stiff but I am really pleased with this.
I understand that adverts help to pay for the coverage but the adverts on TNT, or whatever we're calling it, are just so numerous and endless. And horrifically timed.
It's funny how difficult it can be to change your perspective on yourself.
I have been on a weightloss journey for nearly 3 years now. I am fitter than I have ever been. I am much happier with how I look than I have been for ages.
But I still see myself as the old me most of the time.
