The writers' reasoning was that there was no way Seuss could have meant that to be message, because "machine's can't change your race!"

2/2 Instead, this person believes what Seuss was actually writing about - like, his actual intention when he sat down to write the book - was about how women whore themselves by endlessly buying cosmetics to change the way they look to increase their appeal to high status men.

I would love to read a million takes on The Sneetches! I've always felt that in addition to bigotry and racism it was also about class and the exploitation that is inherent in capitalism.
