People are morons. You don't buy gas because prices are high, you buy gas BEFORE prices are high. When prices are high, you DRIVE less.

Buying gas because the prices are high and going up only means that it'll go up higher faster.

I mean, in the US. The admin is pushing gas vehicles and rolled back benefits on EVs, even though they basically turned the WH into a Tesla parking lot.

What ticks me off is that all the gas and oil already in the pipeline, paid for and refined, has its price jacked up due to the future higher costs.

This is pure greed and abuse by the oil companies.

I got an EV the day before inauguration. I wanted the Biden era tax credit, and I knew that wouldn’t last. Boy howdy I did not see him launching a massive war with Iran and sending gas prices soaring.

Hopefully, next car will be an EV. Don’t drive much so have no intention of giving up my low mileage paid off car at this time. Also, will aim for when a dem is in office. Won’t do anything to boost magat tRump’s economy.

I honestly can’t feel bad for anyone complaining about gas prices or shortages. BEVs are widely available and monthly payments on used ones or good lease deals are the same cost as a monthly gas bill. 🤷‍♂️

Already did about 5 years ago. our electric bill just went up by 18 cents per kilowatt hour. we already have the most expensive electric bill in the country so there’s that. Cheaper than pumping gasoline. I only use my car for grocery shopping and med appointments. It’s like running the dryer

Long lines of vehicles at UK petrol stations since start of last week.

Having spent the last 6 years pleading with our transport manager to put some EVs on the company car list I think it's time for another try.

Our work fleet has included a squadron of 2021 Hyundai Ioniqs. My workmate generally picks those when she needs to drive for work and they never skip a beat. And they are available at sensible prices second hand. Worth recommending, IMHO.

We just bought a house, so we have to wait for a while to upgrade our hybrid (which has low miles and is still working perfectly for us). The moment we can afford to, we're getting an EV. Until then, we're at the mercy of the pump.

I'm grateful we got a hybrid in '18, though. Way lower gas budget!

And to think one dealership I visited told me not to buy an EV this fall. "Dealers on this street only will stock gas cars with the rebates expiring soon." I did not take his advice and bought an EV anyway and very happy with it.

My recent experience of European brand heaters in the UK, is 'we haven't got an EV available to look at', 'they don't do a small EV'(they do!).
'We don't stock them as nobody asks for them'
