multiple folks bringing up Pritzker and he's definitely a real possibility, but as I've said before I am worried that he's had a hard time breaking through outside of bluesky despite signaling more clearly than anyone but Newsom that he's running

breaking through the field will be harder for him

Pritzker is Jewish (as is Ossoff) and I truly fear the reaction of the Right/the Maga Right/the Christian Right etc, etc. But I would love if Pritzker ran; I'd definitely be part of that campaign.

Pritzker is a billionaire heir. That's a dealbreaker for me and I would imagine for lots more voters.

I think the base is finished with the Clinton/Obama/Biden/Pelosi era of the party and are ready to move on. Kamala hasn't done much to distance herself.

young, adept communicator, purple state senator who is going to coast to reelection by ten points in georgia

personally I would prefer he stay in the georgia seat! but his margin of victory in the midterms is going to give him a lot of 'electable' buzz

Admittedly, I know too little about him to have super strong feelings. But, from the House race he lost in (I think) to winning the Senate seat in 2020 until now, he's largely gotten better at communicating/presenting good soundbites that separate him from, say, Schumer & co.

Just run AOC on a “punish the villains” ticket and we will have a Reagan/Mondale map in her favor

Also I think most factions are good with him

Why not Warnock? Excellent orator. Obama vibes.

If Ossoff ran and won, the senate seat would be filled by (the new) governor appointment for the rest of the term. I guess a Democrat might win that gubernatorial race, but I wouldn’t bet on it…

FWIW, in early March, Ossoff was at ~77% among Black voters against each of the main GOP candidates, according to Emerson. emersoncollegepolling.com/georgia-2026-poll-senator-ossoff-starts-re-election-near-50-and-outpaces-gop-field/ I don't know how to contextualize that, but according to this piece, he got 92% of Black voters in the 2021 runoff:

I think Harris/Ossoff is a fantastic ticket. And Ossoff would be a great VP. He’s shown an ability to produce on passion projects.

He seems like a good man, and in the Trump era, that matters a lot to me.

Pritzker is one of those guys who would be great, but, and I hate myself for this, he just doesn't feel presidential. Yes, vibes, dammit.

He’d be such a good Attorney General

Pritzker may have an easier time breaking through the non-Bluesky crowd at this point.

A lot of Bluesky Leftists have not forgiven him for the Chicago Protests.

A lot of "normies" probably forgot Chicago ever had an ICE surge.

Who can peel off the Southern Black vote from her though ? She’d do terribly in Michigan, Wisconsin, PA and New England but she will win most of the delegates in the South if she can consolidate the Black vote.

His appearance works against him; he's a roly-poly Jew while Newsom is Hollywood handsome. I think Harris might actually be a good choice; we could use a prosecutor right now.

And given rising antisemitism, I'm not sure that any Jew has a chance. Really fk Netanyahu.

Personally, I tend to think AOC can do much more good in the Senate.

The Senate is where political ambitions go to die. It's a rotting institution. The presidential field is more wide open than it has been in generations, she should throw her hat in the ring.

as someone in IL he is also doing a LOT of talking against Trump for someone who keeps sending state police to beat the shit out of Anti ICE protestors while ICE is staying in his family's hotel chain

He's got the Midwestern white male things going for him, and while it may not be fair that a significant part of the electorate is racist and sexist, it's just plain dumb to pretend it isn't.

BlueSky is the phalanx though. We’ll know all the players and help educate people in 2027 when non-weirdos start paying attention.

i like pritz a lot but the hard cold fact is he wasn't able to get the IL state police in line

and if he can't do that, he can't do the purges that are necessary

what he's done is very commendable and respectable in normal times

we do not live in normal times

Being willing to say “Fuck Donald Trump” gives him an advantage, I think. Unless a consultant gets him to stop

She waited too long to clear her head, came to the decision too late, missed the right time to define herself and her movement. Story of Harris's career seems to be that she keeps arriving just a little too late.

I think you could say the same thing about Ossoff, and at some point we also need to reckon with the fact that we are still a little less than 2 years out from the next D presidential primary

We’re a long way out. I think Pritzker will break out. The base detests Newsom.
