Just a reminder that the gulf states hosting US bases are themselves repressive theocratic dictatorships built with slave labor to attract wealthy western sociopaths bent on avoiding taxes in the home countries.

For all the demonization of Iran, these states are in some ways much worse.

Iran is highly educated and independent. It has a modern history that includes both progressive rights for women and democracy.

It's reasonable to conclude it would be a far better place if it weren't for centuries if colonialism followed by 50 years of hostility from the US and Israel.

I just had a conversation about this: about how economic pressure from the US is the principle force of neo colonialism and that it is specifically designed to harm the working class and radicalized them.
