I work in the investment industry and this is a terrible idea. Not only do PE funds come with significantly higher fees, the average 401k participant is not equipped to evaluate illiquid alts. This also puts a lot of pressure on plan sponsors in terms of transparency, risk, and oversight. 🤦🏻
