reminds me of how the source filmmaker pony models have insanely high resolution body textures considering that for 99% of them the bodies are a solid color. all because their cutie marks are embedded in the body texture, instead of being just a separate decal, which sfm is fully capable of handling

yeah. it severely limits how many ponies you can use at a time. this shot i did many years ago sits at 1.5gb mem usage with no props or particles, and a simplistic ponyville map (on its own is just 100mb).

keeping in mind that sfm is x86 thus capped at 3gb
