yeah. it severely limits how many ponies you can use at a time. this shot i did many years ago sits at 1.5gb mem usage with no props or particles, and a simplistic ponyville map (on its own is just 100mb).

keeping in mind that sfm is x86 thus capped at 3gb

No way to switch to indexed colors to reduce the amount of memory used?

has to be textures applied a UV. but I was thinking you could just squeeze the UVs down to a single pixel for most models. stick the cutie marks in their own texture applied as a decal (and the eye lashes and makeup).

you'd just have to use the original UVs for more complicated coats
