The desire to replay games but theyโ€™re massive open world ones and I donโ€™t want the fatigue ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ

On the other hand, big open world game means many weeks of not having to spend time trying to decide what to play in one's limited free time :p.

I've wanted to replay Tales of Symphonia and Witcher 3 for years. But I know full well that either of those will take at least six months - and in the meantime there are so many new games being released.

There are games other than massive open world ones?

Probably explains why Iโ€™ve been playing more Resident Evil recently

I now feel bad replaying anything knowing how much new stuff I want to play, and any replay wastes time and grows the backlog ๐Ÿ˜ญ

That's why we always come back to Tomb Raider

Knowing Catalyst will be open-world is a big reason Iโ€™m hesitant to play several others before it comes out tbh

I've been replaying FF7 OG (never beat Sepharoth due to my neglect of grinding half my team ๐Ÿ™ˆ), and just find myself enjoying it more playing in chunks with no pressure to finish ASAP. Just made it to the Golden Saucer. After all that's done, I'll replay Remake and finally play Rebirth

I know the feeling. But at the same time, I did need to take a four-month break from it cos I played too much in the month or so after release and burnt out. (When I returned Iโ€™d mostly focused on the main plot instead of doing side quests as well)

You should give the Yakuza series a try. I'm replaying Like a Dragon currently and it's a lot of fun. VERY Japanese mind ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜…

My backlog looks at me in shame every time I fall to the calling of replaying a massive open world RPG

I recently replayed the Dishonored series and loved them both (Dishonored 1 is still number seven in my top ten favourite games), but Iโ€™m playing Prey for the first time and itโ€™s not really grabbing me. Itโ€™s very hard even on Easy, and I feel the plot gets kinda lost in the open world.

And yeah the semi open world just means having to run back and forth all the time and that makes the game ten times less fun.

I'm right there with ya, I love games like Deus Ex and Dishonored but I tried to get into Prey twice but even after about 5 hours I just can't continue playing it. I also found it too hard, and I beat Deus Ex HR on hard!
