Heading back to the airport via DART.

I've noticed it's been getting easier to convince people to take transit vs Uber and it's mostly a function of Uber's insane cost.

Wondering if we'll see a new ride share service that optimises low cost over convenience. 🤔

every attempt at the low cost rideshare concept has failed because it ends up approximating transit but more expensive. the people who can afford to take rideshares all the time aren't gonna go for a cheaper alternative that takes more time and the people who can't just take transit anyway.

transit is a public good which does not and should not run at a profit. when a private company attempts to reinvent it with tech, it always costs more for worse service because of the misguided attempt to seek a profit margin in running it
