I've spent wayyyyy too much time as a teenager trying anything and everything on how to be "cool" (which is a very late 90s/early 00s to say it because that was then 😅)

Was only towards my late 20s/early 30s that I finally started to actually be... more me?

To echo another reply you got, since I'm in my late 30s and towards the 40s I definitely can see how a dude could feel more free of all that social burdain of trying to not be cringe/be cool, definitely looking forward to that!!!

I do feel this is less tied to the Internet and more into what capitalism has done to our societies.

As you rightly point out: it's not about coming back to some mythical golden age Internet
