The standard is actual malice. Reckless disregard for truth is one of two ways to show actual malice. Thus Ken comparing it to saying vegetables or carrots.

You don’t have to live your life this way, Mangy. You can just *not* assume one of the most famous lawyers on the internet needs you specifically to “educate” him on a point of law.

Also with this fact pattern, “reckless disregard” is unlikely to be a helpful concept. She is reporting her direct experience, she’s either telling the truth as she remembers it or telling knowing falsehoods.
