Well, I was one of the prospective jurors questioned this time, but since there were only two still needed, odds were I'd be sent home. And I was, though I think some of my honest answers contributed to that. šŸ˜‰ So, free of jury duty for a year (and now I get paid for three days)!

So, it's finally happened for me. I've been out of a job so long that my savings are near completely depleted. I've had to apply for food stamps. But it's not gonna be enough, and I'm not even guaranteed to get them.

If anyone has anything at all to spare, it would go a long way..

Grrr, so I was lied to. They did manage to pick all the regular members of the jury today, but there *are* alternates needed...and there wasn't time for them. So now I have to go back once more, on Monday, for just two more picks. Chances are I probably won't get chosen, but even so... šŸ˜”

Well, I have to go back for voir dire tomorrow afternoon, as my group was picked. With 40-50 candidates and only 12 for the jury (no alternates) there's still a good chance I won't actually be picked, but...double bleh. *is already dreading losing the next week or two*

So, got called in for jury duty tomorrow morning, bleh. Hopefully I won't get picked, as I really don't have the time or desire for this (never have really, but especially not right now). Still requires some schedule rearranging even for this much. šŸ˜’

So, tax refund came in, the one much quicker than I expected! (Already knew state would be quick.) End result, roomie now has a new working laptop again, and I even had about $70 leftover. Add that to the rest of my regular check and money is still good. šŸ˜…

Well, all went well with the tax clinic this time! Got there 15 minutes early and *still* had to wait in line outside, but I made it in, and though I therefore was one of the last ones seen and finished with, taxes are now done. Just have to a few weeks/a month to get my refund. šŸ˜

2/2 Now I have to wait 2 weeks to try again (they're off next week due to the holiday). Unless I get there early to stand in line, or they aren't as busy, I can't try again till March 9 (they're closed again the 2nd). Now my refund will be delayed more, and I need that for the roomie's new computer.

I just love wasted trips. Went to the free tax clinic to get my taxes done (can't do it online, a certain job-related policy makes it so my income isn't counted, which means I need a waiver to use it for EIC), and apparently everyone else went the first night too--full up, turned away. 1/2
