I’ve never seen a pueo but there is a lonesome ‘io that hangs out south of Kainaliu; according to Una Greenaway, chief chocolate maker at Kuaiwi farms, the mate disappeared a few years ago;

lots of folks using rodenticides ☹️😫🤬
