When my father was in his late 80's and debilitated he asked me why he had done the heinous things he did, saying that it was something to do with young male aggression etc...Nope, it was pathological narcissism along with a sex addiction and compulsive lying. 1/

I told him that I didnt know and why was he ruminating on this now? he had dementia and cancer. I told him that he had destroyed by ability to trust and have normal relationships. He just said...hmmm.... like, how does that look on me? I was happy to have said it, but they never change. 2/

He is gone and Im happy I was able to enlighten him about what happens when you are just not a good parent and also explosively angry. He didnt remember, but I remember. That's whats important. No therapy fixed it. No years of analysis fixed it. Its incurable. He was not dissimilar to Trump. 3/
