Another video as I slowly create a backdrop for a game that doesn't exist. And a reminder that something you don't like isn't necessarily bad, it's just not for you.

Apropos of seeing people gushing about them; using genAI "for good" is still the wrong choice, idc who the video is mocking.

This week I read a ttrpg that I was expecting I'd be excited by, but it really wasn't my jam. Too many seeds, figuratively speaking.

Whoops, I should pick a ttrpg and assemble some notes for today's video...

Kinda love how Paths I've Yet To Tread just said "No combat system, to have one would be to miss the point."

HECK YEAH ran another session of Punk-rock Anarchist Werewolves this evening (P.A.W.s.) and the band went oh so very wild. They ran into Barry the Werewolf Hunter, who swings a mean cricket bat, they nearly cracked the arson investigation, and they abducted a librarian 😌

arrrrgh, having to keep my window closed because the old geezer next door has a lawn mower running on stinky petrol...I tell you what, rarely have I seen a cloud of fumes so thick and blue-grey.

I found the rules clear, I was able to teach it to the players quickly. And they got very creative in pursuit of their secret objectives. We had a blast with this ttrpg.

Familiar Field Trip is such a fun ttrpg. The players are all animal familiars for a witch, headed into the village for a bit of mischief. They can help or hinder each other as suits their purposes, because this is a competitive game.

You know, some GMs truly excel at getting players to buy in to playing a game with a creepy, eerie atmosphere. It's not easy. The players are fully aware that the peril is theirs to embrace or ignore, and getting them to forget that they have that choice, that's skill.

This is one of those moments in a film that utterly captivates me. Doesn't have to be there, just included for the love of it. Wandering toad, you make me want to weep tears of joy.

Also...why the fuck can't the "path to redemption" involve "doing some other job" rather than the one he used to place himself in a position to do harm to others?

Totally agree with this. We all stand together, on the shoulders of the deranged genius giant who wrote Shed Duel, the greatest ttrpg ever committed to paper.

Achewillow is pretty great. I was recommended it recently, and I just finished the third of eight series. Short episodes, clear narration, interesting plots. Good stuff.

Another session of Pokémon Roam down. The trainers got into scraps, gave snippy soundbites to troublesome hack journos, and sniffed out some interesting rumours about Caerulus, the City of Columns!
(Next session for either group may be the first Gym battle, and I'm pretty excited)
