I still think Umineko's best set up and payoff is reading 7 hours of rich people arguing about inheritance and the bubble economy while only soft elegant strings & piano play, and then on the 8th hour you hear this:

It's soooo good. Like, granted, dgmw...I LIKE the family drama and historical waxing, it's fantastic setup. But the sheer whiplash of that atmosphere shattering, the dawning horror, the franticness of it all...Chef kiss.

It does a really good job of creating a normal environment, that death feels as unnatural as it would be in real life.
