Greater Manchester Police has found "no evidence of any intent to influence or refrain any person from voting" in the Gorton and Denton by-election, after Reform made a complaint over alleged "family voting"

The investigation looked at potential offences under the Representation of the People Act

I wonder if reform can be investigated for knowingly wasting police time?

If Reform continue, they may open themselves up to legal action now.

It's pretty obvious that family voting did occur - and that we have a police force who are incompetent, gullible, or even complicit.
Remember, it was democracy volunteers who visited 22 polling stations and found it happening in 15 of them.

This has come as a complete and absolute shock to me.
I am horrified that there is no evidence.
Did our Invesigators not consult with Lord Trump and Prince Patel of the FibbersBureauInstigators as to what evidence is required

"refrain"....surely they meant "restrain"? To refrain isn't a verb you do to others, it's one you do to yourself!

I can't believe this claim was investigated 😳
There's real crime happening.

I'm glad they did because it embarrasses not just Reform and 'Democracy Volunteers but the press & BBC who gave it days of wall to wall coverage.

Not just Reflux complaining. It was some mysterious election organisation that claimed to have seen it all happening and on a bigger scale than ever before. I seem to remember that their figures did not add up, for stsrters.

And their evidence amounts to...a few instances of volunteers from that organization seeing more than one person going into a booth together. This somehow translated into "we've never seen anything like this before!"

Oh dear, Reform made a completely unjustified complaint, because they lost? Colour me surprised!!

GMP say they spoke to the four Democracy Volunteers observers whose report sparked Reform's complaint, who shared their eyewitness accounts

GMP says they included "some instances of more than one voter going into a booth at the same time, and instances of people looking over the shoulder of voters"

But "the observers do not allege any verbal instruction or physical conduct that indicated one person was directing or coercing another regarding how to vote," GMP says.

"This is a crucial part of the legislation to prove such an offence was committed"

This is the law they're referring to:

How many instances did DV see and how many total voting observations did they make?

So it definitely was seen but no one was able to give any sort of description of who did it, or the time it happened.

No they didn't see it. They saw some vague things that didn't actually qualify under the regulations.

A thing was reported as having been witnessed.

Everything else is and probably will remain unsubstantiated speculation.

Even if there was evidence, it would not necessarily result in prosecution.

If proven, no change in election results either.

All those Muslim women desperate to vote for Matt Goodwin but forced by the Muslim men who accompanied them to vote for the woman plumber instead.

Reform UK and British gammon, making it make sense ... not ... since forever.

How long before RefUK are accusing police of wasting time and money investigating bogus crime allegations [eg Going on the internet and trying to get people to kill others]? Rather than crimes affecting ordinary British white people [was going to include working, but most RefUKers don't].

Now let's see that get the same front page splash in the right wing papers the accusations did.

Straight from the Tory’s Richard Holden playbook of deliberately wasting police time, only for the right-leaning media to cover a non-issue, manufacture unwarranted suspicion - and all for personal gain and culture wars..

They won't care. They shout their lies loudly because they know they are lies. It doesn't matter how much evidence their followers are given after that they like the lie so they keep saying it over and over and over until people think it's the truth.
