Ok I'm going to repost and pin this. If you THINK you're interested in Politics and understand Neo-liberal economics but have never seen how clearly Gary breaks it down, maybe you really don't know how there can be both 'not enough money' and plenty at the same time. It's up to us all to KNOW.

I believe you can already elect to have a simple judgement. If you are innocent you need these checks on a single person's bias. Witch trials next?

Starmer as a kind of avatar for centrists. An empty suit and haircut. Middle-class, Middle-Manager Type A. A Sensible Grown Up with an authoritarian streak. Essentially how they see themselves.

Admitting that he is a failure takes a level of self-reflection they just aren't capable of.

Yes, many of us were long term Labour voters. Then we lived through the Blair oil war, then saw what Starmer did to Corbyn. Cuckoos both.
You don’t treat your own like that.

What? Why? What is wrong with this government? Adding insult to injury. Able bodied people next. Then all will be wearing ankle tags. OOps shouldn't give them any more daft ideas!

Wealth tax manifesto saves incumbent Prime Minister. Could it save Starmer?

I'm more scared of what in my childhood village 'legging up day'(afternoon of 1st). At 69-this weekend - being tripped could be the beginning of the end. Best way to kill old ladies apparently😲. Very very slow. Takes about 2 years. Practise your balance sisters! Live long and prosper, 50s girls!

Incidentally... according to data from 2024 through early 2026, Spain is considered the fastest-growing major advanced economy in Europe. Are young & old immigrants adding to the power of strong domestic demand & better economic cycle? Young work &all pay in. Unemployment is actually down as %.

Spain continues to make me proud to be an inland expat. Sanchez continues to welcome immigrants, to stand up for women's rights and to stand against international bullying and warmongering.

I'm in Spain and have just learned the rather rude phrase to use in response to this kind of threat. "Me sudan los huevos" . A ruder form of the sarcastic "ooh I'm quaking in my boots". Not recommended in polite company but language the orange twunt will understand.

It's not Antisemitic to say Israel is an aggressor. It's Not Anti-American to call out Trumps WAR & to call him fascist. We avoid speaking these truths, because once you acknowledge them, you need to act on them & we are all afraid to be the first to stand up to bullies. Very proud of Spain!

Its good to hear people who were genuine about thinking Starmer was the 'pragmatic' answer, say they have changed their minds. It takes a big man to openly reverse their opinion and right out in public.👏

If you don't have friends in the USA who have illnesses DO spend some time researching the cost of any care/operations you or your friends have ever had and ask yourself would you sell your house...or die?

The vet industry is ripping off pet owners. Think what private healthcare providers will do if they get their hands on the NHS.

📚 😎 💃 Yayy. I AM going to the Seville publishing event again this year, along with Frank Fisher (used to be 20 Books, but now run by Lantia). Anyone else going? It's our annual link with the wider author community.

'Nominative determinism' chooses to side with Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists. The number of attacks by men on women, & even women on women in toilets far far exceeds, even by number of persons using the facilities, a lone 'shit' calling themself 'Trans'. Division sells. And so many buy!

With AI threatening more jobs,. Time to start talking about UBI. The only question is does a country produce enough food, power and housing to provide for all its people, not just b'naires? I had short term benefits & then FIS to cover post natal depression. Brought up 3 'useful' members of society.

Good to hear Zack Polanski re-linking National-Insurance with a healthy economy & of course importantly, our health. Time to remember what it's for and raise it justly enough for National Insurance really to support our health service. We pay too many invisible 'taxes' to the wealthy. NI instead!

People close down when you start talking about economics. As if it weren't fundamental to politics. Not sexy enough? What is, for example the nature and purpose of "The National Debt"? I asked a highly intelligent friend who is not interested in economics. The answers were limp and without nuance.

Oh gawd I want to follow UK politics on here but I really can't stand seeing one more picture or video of frogface the grifter gratuitously mocking anyone who doesn't agree with him. Can someone share something else? PLEASE make him totally irrelevant!

Talking sense again @zackpolanski.bsky.social?😱 The vested interests can't have that. They want us plebs to believe that funding mutual health and social care by National Insurance, is an erosion of our rights. In fact it threatens theirs ... to hoard wealth at the expense of a humane society.

Whatever you do, don't return your Reform election flyer by Freepost. Each one costs Farage £2.50
and that would be just wrong. 😉Obviously a nice large envelope would be brilliant!

I got last minute surgery for Bladder Cancer in Spain. Even in UK I'd have been told "too late". Made me wholly rethink National Insurance. Tax and care works. Selfishness doesn't create a healthy society. It makes gamblers of us all. A gamble 50% will lose. Societies with strong welfare=happier.

One of the most important stories you will ever read. Why does Sweden do better?- you should be asking. The answer is clear, to me. Tax and care. What good are lower taxes (Nat. Ins.)when you can't access A&E and ongoing care because of the "There's no money" construct. Also look at Coca Cola et al.
