I just started reading the WtA Book of Hungry Names, what's the major differences between Apocalypse and Forsaken?

pretty much everything, it's a completely different setting. but basically the focus is much more personal as there isn't some vast cosmic war, werewolves are the guardians of the border between the spirit world. only five playable tribes, which are ideological/focused on hunting specific threats.

the spirit world is specifically only the spiritual reflection of the world and doesn't extend into like the High or Low Umbra, which instead are separate metaphysical realms werewolves can't normally access. it's also hostile to PCs because of their role and the prehistoric sin of their tribes.

A good way to look at it is that apocalypse wolves are super soldiers of Gaia and forsaken wolves are keystone predators of an intricate supernatural/spiritual ecosystem.

They also have different views of culture. classic apocalypse sees culture as something ancestral that’s waiting for you to reconnect with it. Forsaken sees culture as a living thing that you build and adapt to your surroundings , any ancestral cultures you may have only matter if you want it to.
