Favorite RPG is a hard one since there are too many amazing ones. I'd go with Dragon Quest 8 on the PS2, this game enthralled me in my childhood.

Final Fantasy VIII. Other rpgs have come out and are arguably better, but i can't think of a better game to play when you're 17 and queer.

Roguetrader, I love the different classes and how they are all so different, the choices and the way they can speak to you according to what you chose. Perfection.

My all time favorite RPG is probably Final Fantasy X. It was my first Final Fantasy game, so nostalgia is doing some heavy lifting perhaps.

I’ve never been a rpg guy until the pandemic started and I actually played through ff7 remake, and loved it…I’d say that is my favorite just for introducing me to the genre

The Witcher 3 is my favorite RPG. So many great memories with it, and it was the reason I got into the original books. Now it's my favorite thing ever 😌

Had much fun with Fallout or World of Warcraft, but the crown has to go to Baldur's Gate 3. Great characters, interessting stories and so much fun in coop. Also a sucker for DnD.

Either Cyberpunk 2077 or Mass Effect 2. I’m sure both may be considered light on actual RPG elements but I love them. Both incredible fleshed out worlds you want to stay in with characters you wanna get to know. I platinum’d 2077 a while ago but I still drive around aimlessly like once a month

Kingdom Hearts 2

It was the RPG that accompanied me throughout my entire childhood, I love KH so much.

By the way, Knoebel, have you ever heard about of the door to darkness?

My favorite RPG atm is dotHack GU. the MC's arc from not-Sasuke to an actually cool guy was excellent I thought, plus catching up on the in-game forums as I progressed through the story was very fun

I'm a sucker for Final Fantasy IV DS. Not only is it based on my likely favorite (the SNES one!), but the additional script—originally cut for the console version—made for a much more exciting story.

Up until last year, my favorite was Persona 5 Royal. But then Expedition 33 came out and absolutely took over my life. Almost a year after beating this game, and I still think about the story from time to time. The music is also in constant rotation on my playlists.

My fav RPG is easily Persona 5 (Royal) since I didn‘t know anything about that franchise back then and it completely caught me off guard during my last year at Gymnasium and really helped me a lot during this time 🔥

Besides that Final Fantasy VII and XV are great as well!

Final Fantasy Tactics has been my favorite ever since I first played it back in the early 2000s. The tactical RPG gameplay, the deep customization, and what I consider the best narrative in any Final Fantasy (sorry Cloud) make it a true masterpiece.

Too hard of a call to make - so I'll give you some of my faves:

Legend of Legia - solid story, fun combo fueled combat, squished into a single disc RPG on the PS1

Mass Effect Trilogy - ME2 is my fave of the 3, played through at least 5 times.

Pokemon - Ended on Gold/Silver era - 252 was enough 😅

Persona 5. It's the first game I played through with my gf together.
Took us months since we saw each other only on weekends. We named our new cat after Morgana 💜

My favorite RPG spot (after the GOAT Disco Elysium) is now being disputed by Chrono Trigger and Look Outside

I've been waiting for a year to see if my fondness for Look Outside was only hype, but it's still very much incredible after a couple more playthroughs soooo...

Nice! My favourite RPG has got to be Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Being able to live and exist in the world I've loved since I was a kid was such a magical experience. You don't get moments like that as often in your 30s.

My favourite RPG was Deus Ex back in the day - at the time it felt like the game had everything! Great story, hacking, stealth elements, great FPS combat... It was one of the first I played multiple times over to get the different endings too! 😁

Okage Shadow King. An extremely quirky PS2 era JRPG about a boy whose shadow is taken over by an Evil King and you need to go and fight the fake evil kings that took over while he was trapped in a bottle.
