Look at this! 👀
We're starting to get customer #AmbaSat-1 #ChipSat builds in for testing (ready for our 3U #CubeSat launch!), and we were thrilled to see this custom design.
While our satellites are fully programmable, seeing this level of customisation is just awesome. #ChipSat

For anyone interested in the UK Space Sector. This video from AstroAgency is a great summary.

I was asked to do a little video for World Space Week to encourage children to pursue a career in the Space Industry and STEM more broadly.

Don't think I'll ever get comfortable in front of the camera.

Knowing the team at the UK Space Agency I am confident they will continue to support the industry, so I welcome the strategic intent behind this decision. The key will be in the execution. I'll be reserving my full assessment for after the transition is complete and the results become clear.

➡️ Our national space ambition, particularly the development of sovereign launch capabilities, remains a key goal. This structural change is intended to better support that long-term vision, not diminish it.

➡️ The UK's space industry is a dynamic ecosystem of innovative SMEs and global leaders. Its success is driven by their ingenuity and is distinct from the administrative structure of the government agency that supports it.

➡️ The UK Space Agency is not being abolished. Its brand, identity, and core functions will continue within the new departmental structure. Reports suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.

➡️ The goal is to reduce bureaucracy, not add to it.

Amidst the online speculation, it's worth clarifying a few points:

Today's announcement that the UK Space Agency will be merged into the Department for Science Innovation and Technology, is a move that is designed to reduce the duplication of work, improve efficiency by cutting red tape and boost support for the space industry as a whole. Starting from April 2026.

As I work through the Licensing and compiling documents to get a CubeSat into LEO.

I wondered how did people do this pre AI, because it's helped speed things up.

They spent time at University studying Engineering as opposed to me who did Law and happens to be OK at making things.

I can't put into words how excited I am to hear the news that @skyrora have received their launch licence from the CAA.

The first rocket company in the UK to be granted a licence for vertical launch.
