The heavy thing:

Those who call for accountability are mistrusted as agents, ops, racist infiltrators who do not understand politics, troublemakers that will give the opposition an edge/intel/some power they do not already hold that is never defined. We must collectively learn to walk & chew gum.

I love my elders that hold it down at the voting booth with everything in my being AND rage at the politicians that let them down year after year. We must be able to honor our beloved ancestors’ struggles BY envisioning, demanding and creating better for them NOW. Not be driven by fear to silence.

But there’s a major issue: the David Hoggs of the world need to listen to the fears of those elders telling him to keep it down & stop dismantling what they fought to build. They are also accountable & have to address (& prepare for!) the downstream consequences of “shaking things up.” Build trust.
