Called my rep and said "I am concerned about the President's posts about committing genocide and would like my reps to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office" and the guy was like "okay I'll pass that along, is there anything else" and I was like no that's pretty much it

I said "I'm calling about the President's tweet that he wants to 'destroy an entire civilization,' and the guy said, "And I assume you're against it?" like oh man, what kind of calls have you been getting today that you have to ask?

I got an answering machine, which is typical anyways, but I still used my entire allotted time to tell her to do SOMETHING.

Don't know how coherent I was because talking on phones makes me want to vomit and I was sobbing, but I still fucking did it. No one awake has any excuse today.

I hope the pay and benefits were worth it for these interns having to answer whether our elected officials will stop the president from committing societal annihilation.

when I told the person I spoke to "I think Trump should be removed from office" he replied "true" which was refreshing to hear given that I am calling my Texas reps
I know my calls and emails to Cruz will fall on deaf ears but at least this one person heard me

The 25th can only be invoked by the vice president and a majority of the cabinet.

Congress can vote to impeach, and then the Senate would have to convict.

Not saying the pressure on congress is wrong, but asking them to invoke the 25th gives them an easy "not our job" out.

Y'all literally have Adolf Hitler as president and expect to get him to stop comitting war crimes by complaining poilitely to representatives who are all on his side?

Jesus Christ you USians are pathetic.

Same here for Jack Reed. “I’ll pass the message along. He doesn’t have an official comment yet”

This guy is literally doing the same thing the Nazis we're planning to achieve

The people in Congress have to start growing a pair

And actually holding the president in contempt, For literally causing World War 3 at this point.

I don't understand how you guys are not showing up en masse in the streets, in front of the WH... Y'all trying to "do something" by phonecall? WTF?

Take a note from the French, the Chileans, the Argentinians... Actually be *furious*.

differently from the french and chileans, american cops are more than happy to shoot and arrest civillians over nothing, they are trigger happy fucks who will do anything to show they are "the law"

I would *love* to do this, but distance (3k miles) & lack of sufficient income to make the journey (rent first, gas/petrol, unpaid time off, motel/food fees) leave me w/the only options of call until I'm a nuisance & fume.

Hey, East Coast! Wake up & become the Voices they can't ignore!

Places I've worked at in France actually allow for "strike days off" if you want to go on strike. It's heavily encouraged here. But now that they're trying to pass a law that makes it illegal to speak against Israel, I think people aren't mad enough either.

Right-wingers: "The biggest threat to humanity are trans people, immigrants and who burns the USA flag!"
Also right-wingers' president: "I want to genocide a whole population"

I have zero idea how true it is, but I did ask the staffer of my senator (Klobuchar) what happens with the calls and she said they mostly tell the rep in question about the volume of calls rather than the content of each call 🤷‍♀️

Been calling my rep weekly and sometimes multiple times a week. Called him earlier today. Imminent removal of DJT is necessary. Thank you, too, for calling. Very important to do so today.

I tried so hard not to yell at my rep's interns, but I really didn't know how else to convey "publically declared willful intent to commit genocide requires extraordinary action" without screaming

I went with "every second the Congressman is silent about this, we are all taking home the message that he's totally cool with genocide"

I've been asking them to mimic Mitch McConnell's 2008 decision to block everything Obama did or was going to do.

No votes. No nominees. Nothing. Put sand in every gear to slow down what you can't stop.

Could bet you money, if I called my rep, Mike Haridopolos, he would say what he always says.
"He won in a landslide, and that have us an imperative to do what he wants." Or some shinanigans like that.

My rep staffer said that just because he was previously for the war did not mean he endorsed today's comments. Of course that doesn't mean that he disagreed with them either. What a weak ass individual.

I hope every republican and democrat who enabled this for this long gets exactly what they deserve as slowly and painfully as possible. What else can you even say

And how will they get that? By calling their representatives?

You talk as if the people aren't enabling this as well, the people who voted for him, the people who refuse to do anything more than "calling the representatives" to stop him!

And no, I don't care what anyone will say, I don't care if y'all think I'm an asshole, as a Latin American, I'm sick
