I suppose that's a hard libel suit to win, but it can be a big money suck in the meantime?

Huge money - lawsuits like that dragging on can go into the $100’s of $Ks & possibly $Ms - even if eventually dropped or settled. Energy, mental health, time, stress-related medical stuff - you don’t want to get into that unless you’re buttoned down tight.

I suppose I'm thinking more of a gossip column than a regular article? Something that makes the story more the rumors themselves?
