Cold hard fact is that ASO don't give a shit about women's races and never have. That's the other thing no one wants to say out loud.

They put them on halfheartedly because not doing it would make them look terrible and also it appeases the UCI but no one can force them to do it well.

I'm not saying this only as a criticism of ASO, if a commercial entity doesn't want to engage in a certain part of the market then that is absolutely fine really.

I'm mostly pointing it out to highlight the danger of putting women's cycling in the hands of parties who don't have a genuine interest.
