For more than 65 years I have paid into Social Security in my employment. This is not a handout, but what I paid to have retirement income once I retired. Leave Social Security alone!

I'm still puzzled as to why they keep referring to Social Security/Medicare as "Entitlement Programs" or a "ponzi scheme" when we have paid money to these programs for decades of our working lives?? They want to steal our $$ & give it to the 1%?? WTAF is wrong with these people 🤬🤬 FAFO !!

"Entitlement" comes from the word, Entitled. Somehow, the word has come to hold the opposite of its true meaning in GOP-speak. Entitled means it is not theirs to take! We have to push back on their bastardization of language to win.

It was never a tax. It was optional when it was created. It technically can still be opted out of, if I recall correctly. It’s just very difficult to do so. Social security was set up as a way to guarantee income for Americans after their working years, for the many who are not financially savvy.
