As a non-wealthy non-US-ian high-school dropout, reading this post feels like reading a story about a duke and duchess and their dozens of servants packing trunks full of evening clothes for their Grand Tour.

(I got to university eventually, but it was nothing like this.)

The whole concept of going to uni right out of high school - and having your parents pay is foreign to me.
All my friends (but one) put off school till they could afford it. And most of us opted for career based training / trade school. A bachelors (alone) wasn't going to pay the rent!

I don't think wealthy people have any idea of how wealthy they are in comparison to almost anyone else.

(I'm sure the writer would describe himself as middle class, but it's definitely a different middle class than the one I belong to.)
