This is the original sin of higher education.

(So many) students see University as a away to access better paid jobs.
Universities see students as income.
(So many) professors see teaching as the price they have to pay to be allowed to do research.

Learning is almost never discussed.

I feel like we need to get the professional business types out of university administration, with the exception of the accounting/finance end. Like it or not, if we want institutions focused on research and learning we need professors who will also do admin (of that kind)

Like colleges of old.
