That's what we did the last time. However, I thought that cover story was FOR OUR PROTECTION.

It hadn't even occurred to me that we might have to provide cover for spineless Congressmen who don't have the guts to say "no" to the Dear Leader, "we will not invade our NATO allies".

US military is a different story.

Shooting your allies - Danes, Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, the French, Germans, the Dutch - can bring up confusing emotions, but the order isn't unconstitutional so they're obligated to follow it.
