Bought in the 80's, unbelievable quality. Still playing the original frets (tho tbh they could use replacement)

Never had the pleasure of playing that model. Ovation made the Applause with an aluminum neck and I had one at sea in the 70s. My fiancée, currently wife of 43 years bought me another in 82. It's hanging behind me. They don't 'mellow' like wood but the electronics still work and it's easy to play.

I remember the Applause, my brother had a deep-body 12 string that was pretty nice, really. My Custom Balladeer is a thinline bowl (I pretty much only play in my living room) rosewood neck, ebony fretboard.
