The @nationaltrust.org.uk only rarely ask their members to take political action, but when they do, it’s seismic.

Please take the NT’s action, email your MP demanding the Government protect 30% of the UK for nature by 2030: campaigns.nationaltrust.org.uk/page/186395/action/1?locale=en-GB

Meantime, humans are spending billions on a moon base. We are a pretty flawed species...

Not sure what this doom is going to help achieve

Email sent.

The false conflict between nature / climate and economic health is divisive.

I fear that lobbying by those with a vested interest in farming / water companies / building has created an unfair imbalance when it comes to how politicians view these matters.

It's great to see my employer campaigning on this, hopefully the membership and all visitors to NT sites will respond.

Only way to do this is to live more densely in cities. I am part of such a small interest group in this respect.

I think this will have to be something but I worry that this could lead to a greater disconnect and more human/nature separation. Humans are part of their local ecosystems and have a role to play as a positive key stone species.

Whilst urban densification is important it’s by no means the ‘only’ way to spare more land for nature. In England, just 8.8% of land is urban; 70% is farmed. We need to tackle nature-harming forms of agriculture, forestry & shooting far more urgently
