I keep thinking that if even 2% of the 33% of registered voters who didn't vote had voted, Harris could be president and none of this nightmare would be happening. I wonder if those non-voters have any awareness of how their choices affected our democracy and our future health and welfare.

They probably still think their “one” vote doesn’t matter, and have “better” things to do on election day. But they’ll complain about how everything is stacked against them anyway.

Well said and really important to remember. I’d like to push back just a bit on the 51% number. He got just under 50% of voters, but not all Americans because many didn’t vote. I don’t want to cede any more to them than necessary.

Trump got 48.9% of those who voted. That's about 20% of American adults who support Nazis. The other 80% don't but unfortunately 60% of Americans couldn't be bothered to spend an hour to defeat the Nazis again.

Is anybody saying “you have no right to hold certain principles!” What’s going on is that we’re all trying to figure out what principles are unpopular and what are essential regardless of their popularity. Bc that varies among people we’re arguing.

I ran out of space to get into it, but the short answer is: Lindbergh was a piece of shit and a Nazi sympathizer and even he wasn't actually pushing for US entry into the war on Germany's side, which should show us how unimaginable that was.
