In previous drafts you would appear in front of the draft board, they would find a diagnosis (or previous arrest) for homosexuality/transvestism/etc (classified as 4-F back in the day), then send you home. I suspect they would just do the same with anyone with a gender dysphoria diagnosis

To be honest, I wouldn't rule out these people putting drafted they dont like into the same units and sending them to do jobs no one wants as punishment.

They likely wouldn’t make any determination until or if an actual draft were implemented.

Oh right they would just register you, but honestly most anyone assigned male at birth are likely already registered for SS

My knowledge of this is entirely hearsay from my boomer parents and their friends but while this was certainly policy, the longer the war went on, the more likely draft boards were to "overlook" blatant queerness, assuming boot camp would straighten then out (or put them deliberately in harm's way)

Some employers would then ask why you were marked 4-F which obviously carried a lot of stigma for most of the 20th century, but that's obviously nothing new to trans people today
