Aggressiveness may play a role via genes but I’d be careful to make generalisations. The variance within a population is far greater than we often presume.

And there are limiters. Not all leave for another place, warring or fleeing.

I’d focus on those who seek and gain power, they make an impact.

But the culture is a culprit for sure. Each era seems to have their own ways of justifying the statuses, be it high or low.

I come from a country where we had some decades of hopeful idealism, where we tried to maintain an equality of possibilities to move within classes if skills allowed.

I don’t know if this is the same thing, but I read a fascinating book about the origin of the Indo-European languages a couple years ago that traces them back in a way that emphasizes their origin from a rapacious and expansionist polity.
