He’s apparently French (in the original comics), British (in the English translations), AND American (in the animated series).

… also, I could have sworn Professor Calculus was Belgian, but apparently he’s Syldavian? Uh.

Huh, in my slow slow French read-through of the series, I just got to Syldavie being a thing (Sceptre d'Ottokar)

Guess I'm not too far from getting more of the recurring characters actually appearing.
