We test using a PPK2 to measure current in various scenarios, then compare to actual performance from hourly heartbeats. Right now on PT2, with freq scaling, Tictoc watchface (default) baseline consumes w/ ble connected is 137uA. With a ~185mAh battery that's a lot of runtime!

The SF527 chip in PT2 has different quirks than nRF52840 in P2D. We're sanding down the edges of drivers (eg accelerometer changed) and different CPU run modes. Experimenting with frequency scaling too.

Now that PT2 is fully in mass production, we're working on reducing power consumption in PebbleOS. Building a bunch of fun (to me at least lol) tools to help with this! Here's some charts of where we're starting at. Asterix is the codename for P2D, Obelix = PT2.

We've assembled over 4000 Pebble Time 2 now! Not all of them have been packaged yet (that's the last step in production), but that process is ramping up now. Also due to an annoying timing thing, watches were ready before their matching colour bands! That's been resolved now.

Had some fun over the weekend adding a "Try this app in your browser" feature to Pebble Appstore - still takes a little while to boot, but you can try it out now apps.repebble.com! It theoretically can handle 200 simultaneous connections, but we'll see when it collapses haha

couldn't find a Pebble ana-digi face that I loved for PT2/PR2 so had claude make one (with github.com/priyankark/pebble-wf-agent-skill!).

I loved wearing my casio ana-digi in high school!
