Have you ever wished the THINK Reference Databases were on the web, easier to search, and had some easter eggs in them?

Ron McAdams & I chatted about my Mac game Pararena—published by Casady & Greene around 1992 (youtu.be/QpK6fYYr-6o).

Was reminded that Michael (Greene) was not pleased with my proposed splash screen. (I had to move the figure down.)

(He would have really disliked what AI did to it.)

Instead of turning a clock into a vintage Mac, I turned a vintage Mac into a clock!, I though it would be fun given its #MARCHintosh The program can be downloaded here: github.com/retrotheory/BigMaclock

It supports US/EU month day order AM/PM, Invert display, 'grey' background and alarm function

The incredible Jack68k made a piece of software that is almost a Tech Step (with potentially more flexibility) for those of us that can’t afford an actual Tech Step. Total game changer for those of us that work on old Macs!

Whoops, I missed my chance to make the “640% should be enough for everybody” joke. But it’s obviously not enough because the PicoIDE campaign keeps going. 6 days left! I’m blown away by how far it’s come. BTW the last update I posted brought even more people with weird systems out of the woodwork!

ICE activity continues to interrupt daily life for students, staff and families, despite the announced end of the two-month surge of federal immigration agents. Students attend school remotely, staff monitor arrival and dismissal, and leaders wonder when they can resume normal school operations.

I'm working to upload some Desk Accessories I found for #MARCHintosh. However, some of them won't open, I get an error -50.

Looking up -50 I can see "paramErr, Error in user parameter list". And if using Font/DA mover (Sys6) it says it's damaged.

Is there anyway to fix this, or are they corrupt? 🤔

Look what came in the mail 👀
It’s samples of the molded silicone rubber buttons and LED light pipe for PicoIDE! They look and feel great to use. I’m working on improving the color match (just need to find my Pantone book…)

You can be nice, or not.

I just received a large order of BlueSCSI units because the customer says purveyors of alternate solutions are not nice. My customer told me that was a --primary motivator--.

I'm humbled.

I try to be nice. So should you! It pays off.

im not a linux evangelist but people post on here weekly like "i miss when computers were more like the early 2000s and had basic software and i didn't have to pay attention to all the flashiness and complexity and updates" girl what you desire is running stable debian on a spare thinkpad

There's been a lot of video reviews of BlueSCSI - I've never asked to review the video before it airing - only asked that if they had questions I'm here to help.

No RAM Test

macintoshgarden.org/apps/no-ram-test

Apple's Mac OS 8.6 provided a hidden feature to disable the slow startup memory check on certain Power Macintoshes. This is useful if you have a lot of memory installed in your system.

Here are the classic Macs I am showing at #vcfsocal this weekend. Both feature the 32-bit 68030 CPU although the Mac Classic II only has a 16-bit data bus (doh!). Both feature an internal BlueSCSI emulated hard drive #retrocomputing #macintosh #apple #Mac #bluescsi

Hey All, I made a header only C++ library (MIT) where line of code inits, then you can start writing to pixels on the screen.

I call it thirteen.h, inspired by the simplicity of the 13h days.

Examples include a mandelbrot viewer and a playable mine sweeper game.
