There are seven Vuno class auroral low-orbit stations, run by the Panthalassan Alliance- named for the tallest mountains on each continent. Originally built to repair the atmosphere by dispersing aerosols, they now exist as a stark, militarized reminder of who controls Earth's air and space access.

While space-born pilots may struggle with the fixed planes of reference while on Earth, they find themselves well suited to the ocean. Colonial forces have been seen retrofitting their KMs for deep water applications, and have seen great success hassling the Panthalassan Alliance's surface vessels.
